Lux Launches UK Arts Organization Website

Lux, a Seattle- and London-based online design, development, and documentation company, launched a new online community for the Hospital, a creative concern in London founded by Vulcan Inc. The Hospital was created by Paul Allen, entrepreneur, philanthropist, investor, and co-founder of Microsoft; and Dave Stewart, musician, producer, writer, and one half of the Eurythmics.

The Hospital is a private members' club in central London that is developing an environment and services for creative and like-minded people to work, collaborate and play. Their 60,000 sq. ft. building includes state-of-the-art TV and music studios, an art gallery, restaurants, bars, cinema, library, games room, and meeting rooms. Thyme, the award-winning fine-dining restaurant on the first floor is open to the public.

Lux developed the members-only online community allowing users to post personal profiles, collaborate, network, communicate, post image galleries, and extend club membership via the Internet. Lux also developed the Hospital's corporate website at http://www.thehospital.co.uk.

"The Hospital club site is the realization of 10 years of Internet development aimed at creating online communities," said Jayson Jarmon, president of Lux. "It showcases how online communities have evolved into real creative, collaborative groups."

Paul G. Allen founded Vulcan Inc. in Seattle with Jody Patton to manage his personal and charitable endeavors. Vulcan creates and advances a variety of world-class endeavors and high-impact initiatives that change and improve the way people live, learn, do business, and experience the world.

Lux is an online design, development, and documentation company based in Seattle and London. Lux clients include Microsoft, PEMCO, T-Mobile, Tommy Bahama, IDX, Valley Medical Center, Akamai Technologies, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, and Rabanco.
